Winery Profiles

These two were near the beginning of the natural farming & winemaking movement in the 90s and have become some of the pioneers of regenerative agriculture and wine quality. Most of their wines are made from the Cabernet Franc & Chenin Blanc varieties but are in many styles and from many sub-regions.

Nicole & her son Romain run their small family domain in the small region of Cote de Brouilly. Nicole took over for her father in the late 70s when no other women were in the local industry & continued to run things by herself for decades after that. When her son Romain came into the business, they added both white wines and traditional method sparkling wines to their portfolio, all made from the Gamay Noir variety.

Tinashe Nyamudoka originally hails from Zimbabwe but began his wine career in South Africa in fine dining. After moving from silverware polisher to server, to wine steward, to Sommelier & eventually wine director, he began Kumusha Wines in 2017. In the Shona language, Kumusha means "your home, your roots" and is a reminder to Tinashe of where he came from and that he intends on making wine from his native country someday.
